Throughout my life, I’ve struggled to feel truly valued in human relationships. The pursuit of acceptance often led to frustration and disappointment, leaving me feeling manipulated into becoming someone I didn’t want to be.
After experiencing profound love and its painful end, I chose not to seek that kind of connection again—and I haven’t. The nature of human love can be conditional and selfish, and I never quite fit into those expectations. In my younger years, I obsessed over what I could change about myself to fit in, but I’ve since learned that I don’t need to change to be accepted.
Honesty and integrity are crucial to me, but they’re often hard to find in people. I’ve come to understand that judgment and conditions reveal the flaws in all of us. Nowadays, I rarely feel lonely or bored, as my art and creative pursuits keep me engaged. While I sometimes care about others’ opinions, I no longer let that dictate my worth.
What truly matters to me is the unconditional love I receive from animals, especially dogs. They offer an abundance of love without conditions, and they trust me because they know I would never harm them. Most of the time, we form a deep bond quickly, though some may initially struggle due to past traumas. But even those dogs learn to trust and connect with me, knowing we share similar experiences of hurt and abandonment.
