I take my dog surfing whenever he asks, which is nearly every day.

Saturday

7 A.M. The dogs and I wake up to start our day. We begin with breakfast and then head out for their morning walk. Mylo, our surfing enthusiast, seems to know it’s the weekend and gets particularly excited for his beach time. His sisters, however, are just enjoying another Saturday.

9 A.M. Our family drives to Portlock Beach in Hawaii to avoid the midday heat. We keep a close eye on the dogs, as beach safety is crucial for their well-being.

9:30 A.M. While Mylo eagerly anticipates surfing, I start with a group activity to ensure his sisters feel included. Mylo is particularly fond of chasing the splashes created by throwing rocks into the water. His sisters join in for a bit before switching to playing with each other on the beach.

10 A.M. When I bring out the surfboard, Mylo’s excitement is palpable. He has a passion for surfing that’s unmatched. It took him a couple of months to get used to the board and a bit longer to ride the waves confidently. He was always the one pushing to learn, and now he’s hooked.

10:15 A.M. We’re surfing in rhythm, but Mylo gets impatient waiting for the next set of waves. I keep a few rocks in my pockets to toss for him while we wait. He chases after the splashes before hopping back on the board.

11:15 A.M. After about an hour of surfing, we head back to the beach to rejoin his sisters and my wife. Mylo would stay in the water all day if he could, but I prefer to limit his time to keep him safe and happy.

11:25 A.M. We find a shady spot to cool off and have some water. Mylo and I relax after our surf session, enjoying the break from the sun.

12 P.M. Despite Mylo’s reluctance, we head home for a rest. His sisters are tired, and we prefer to avoid the afternoon heat.

12:30 P.M. Back at home, the dogs settle in for a nap. Mylo dreams of the waves, eager for the next surf session.

4:30 P.M. It’s time to prepare for our second beach outing. Mylo is thrilled and tries to help as I get the car ready.

5 P.M. We arrive back at the beach for our second surfing session. Mylo’s enthusiasm doesn’t wane, and we go through our routine of surfing and playing with rocks. Even though we just did this a few hours ago, Mylo treats each session as a new adventure.

6:30 P.M. We paddle back to the beach for the last time today. Mylo expresses his gratitude with enthusiastic kisses, showing just how much he enjoyed the day.

7 P.M. We head home, and Mylo, content and exhausted, looks forward to a good night’s sleep and another exciting day tomorrow.
