Shelter Dog Shows No Regrets After Giving His Kennel a Makeover Overnight

Wile E. Coyote was found in a remote area before being brought to the Louisiana SPCA. Initially, he was a calm and unremarkable dog at the shelter—until he was given a pillow.

On a Tuesday afternoon, Wile E. received the pillow, and by that evening, after the staff had left, he discovered it was filled with feathers. Apparently, he has a strong fondness for feathers.

When the shelter staff arrived the next morning, they found a considerable mess. “The pillow was intact at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and completely shredded by 7 a.m. the next day,” Jessyca Sulfsted, marketing and communications manager at the Louisiana SPCA, told The Dodo. “Feathers were everywhere, and it took multiple attempts to clean them up.”

Despite the chaos, Wile E. Coyote seemed to take great pride in his handiwork, as evidenced by a playful staff post: “10/10 would do it again!”

The staff were surprised by this outburst of destruction, as Wile E. Coyote is usually quite calm. “This is the first and only time we’ve seen him cause such a mess,” Sulfsted said. “He’s normally very laid-back in his kennel, but the feathers must have been irresistible.”

Feathers were scattered throughout his kennel and beyond, and the staff are still finding them in unexpected places. “Fun fact: We’re still discovering feathers in random corners of the room,” Sulfsted added.

Wile E. Coyote is generally a mellow dog with a special weakness for feathers. He’s looking for an active home where he can enjoy plenty of adventures and possibly make friends with other dogs or children. He would make a great family pet—just as long as the house is free of feathers.
